2018 MOE Edusave Character Award (EHCA) & SST Character Award

The ECHA and SST Character Award is given to recognise SST students for demonstrating exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions.

Nominations can be submitted by school key stakeholders (e.g. students, parents, partners, members of the public) who have interacted with the students.

Nominee must fulfill the following criteria.

The student has consistently demonstrated exemplary values, character and civic responsibility through their behavior and actions. Student may be identified for the following qualities.

(a) Possesses strong moral and performance character.

(b) Possesses qualities associated with any of the school values (e.g. Respect for self and others, Responsibility for their actions, Active builders of positive Relationships; and Reflective learners).

(c) Has demonstrated exemplary civic responsibility.

(d) Has shown remarkable resilience and tenacity in overcoming difficult circumstances.

Only Singapore Citizens are eligible for ECHA.

All students are eligible for SST Character Award.

Should you wish to nominate deserving students for the award, kindly submit the completed nomination forms (hard copy) to the General Office by 6 August 2018, 3:00 pm.

School Parents Meeting & Career Day 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

There will be a School Parent Meeting & Career Day on 24 May 2018, Thursday.

MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB)

Students (Singapore Citizens) who successfully gain admission into Secondary One at SST may apply for the MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB).

How to Apply?

Students who wish to apply for the bursary can obtain the application form from SST General Office, or download a copy of the MOE ISB Application Form. All application forms must be submitted together with the relevant documents to SST directly.

MOE Financial Assistance and Bursary Schemes

Students may also apply for the MOE ISB at any time throughout the academic year should the need arise.

The bursary will take effect in the month the application is approved. There will be NO backdating of the effective month.

All completed forms, together with the necessary documents should be submitted at the General Office.

Tenure of Bursary

All ISB cases approved will be valid till December of the year. Fresh applications will have to be submitted for each academic year.

Income Limits and Benefits

The student needs only satisfy either the Gross Household Income (GHI) or the Per Capita Income (PCI) criterion. PCI is computed based on the GHI divided by the number of members in the household (including parents, siblings and grandparents).

With effect from 1 April 2018, the income eligibility cap for the MOE ISB has been raised from GHI of $7,200 or PCI of $1,800 to $9,000 and $2,250 respectively.

Revised Income Criteria and Benefits (From 1 April 2018)

*An ISB recipient who is eligible for partial subsidy of school fees and is also arecipient of MOE scholarship, special award or bursary which provide part paymentof school fees, the total fee subsidy received by him will be capped at the annual school fees charged by each independent school less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fee payable if he were in government school.
